Privacy Policy — Barcode Print Pro

Effective date: 4 September 2026 Last updated: 4 September 2026

Barcode Print Pro ("the app") is a Shopify app that designs and prints retail barcode labels. This policy explains what the app accesses, what it stores, and what it does not.

Before publishing, fill in: the legal or trading name of the publisher, a contact email address, and the effective date. They are the only facts in this document that do not come from the source code.

The short version

The app reads your products, inventory levels and locations in order to lay out a label, and prints from what it reads. It stores your label designs, which location and template you last chose, and your subscription status. It stores no information about your customers, because it never asks Shopify for any. Labels go on shelves, not on orders.

What the app accesses

When you install the app, you grant it these Shopify permissions:

PermissionWhy it is needed
read_productsRead product and variant titles, SKUs, barcodes, prices and images to place on a label.
read_inventoryRead stock levels so the print quantity can match what is on the shelf.
read_locationsList your retail locations so you can choose which one's stock to use.
write_productsSave a generated EAN-8 onto a variant that has no barcode — only when you ask for it, and only onto variants whose barcode field is empty or invalid.

The app requests product, variant, inventory, location and shop-currency fields only. It does not request, receive or store customer names, email addresses, shipping addresses, phone numbers, orders, or payment information.

What the app stores

The app's database holds four kinds of record, all keyed to your shop's domain:

Product data, inventory counts and prices are read live from Shopify each time you use the app and are never written to the app's database. Rendering happens in your browser: the PDF is built on your own computer and is never uploaded to or stored on the app's servers.

Your print queue — which variants you selected and any quantities you typed — is stored in your browser's local storage, on your own device. It contains Shopify variant identifiers and numbers, nothing else, and clearing your browser data removes it.

What the app does not store

Your app user record on Shopify (name and email of the staff member who installs the app) is not collected. The app authenticates with offline access tokens, which are tied to the shop rather than to a person, so no staff identity is transmitted to or stored by the app.

Where the data is held

ProviderRoleLocation
ShopifySource of all product data; handles billingPer Shopify's own infrastructure
Fly.ioRuns the application serverSan Jose, California, USA (sjc)
NeonHosts the PostgreSQL databaseOregon, USA (AWS us-west-2)

No other third party receives any data. The app makes no outbound network requests other than to Shopify.

How long data is kept

Data requests

Shopify requires every app to handle three privacy requests, and the app implements all three:

If you want your data erased sooner than the 48-hour window, uninstall the app and contact us; erasure is a single operation and does not depend on the scheduled request.

Your rights

Depending on where you are, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete personal data held about you, and to object to its processing. The app holds no personal data about shoppers, and holds no staff identity data, so in practice a request will usually be answered by confirming that. Where you believe otherwise, contact us and we will respond.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at the same address and the "last updated" date above will change. Material changes that affect what data is collected will be announced in the app.
